What is Big Bear Amateur Radio Club?

The club was established in 1975 with the purpose of helping Big Bear hams and emergency personnel com- municate in good times and bad. In 2017 we have 100+ members. When requested, our club members respond by helping San Bernardino Fire and Police communications dur-ing times of disaster. Big Bear is in the middle of the San Bernardino forest so we know that immediate help is critical during a fire. Membership dues of $25/year help support the BBARC's meter repeater, allows us to update with the newest equipment for club use, and gives us the means to sponsor various club events. The club is managed by the members at large, including a President, VP, Secretary, and Treasurer. Members are encouraged to help with club functions and to volunteer for the next year's slate of Officers. We are serious about   ham radio, and we're serious about having fun as well.
