The Appalachian Amateur Radio Group, or "AARG" may be better know for "the Pine Grove Repeater", with it's rich family based history. Formally organized in 1991, has actively supported the amateurs of the emergency communications / public service community from our beginning.

AARG members are spread throughout our primary coverage area which includes portions of Berks, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Schuylkill, and York Counties, in Pennsylvania, and beyond.

 Founded originally as the Accounting and Auditing research centre (AARC) in 2010 to develop research in accounting and foster relationships with the accountancy profession, national and international stakeholders, AARG is led by Jill Collis with support from Robin Jarvis and Sergio de Cesare.

AARG is a network of scholars, activists, and practitioners interested in research on HIV/AIDS. As a membership organization we provide a forum for anthropologists who are engaged in work around HIV/AIDS in all regions of the world to meet and communicate about their work.

AARG was established in 1987 and maintains a membership of roughly two hundred individuals. Although our focus is on anthropological approaches for understanding and addressing HIV/AIDS, one does not have to be an anthropologist to join. We are an interest group of the Society for Medical Anthropology (SMA), which is a section within the American Anthropological Association (AAA).
